Looking for somewhere to use your spare change? Why not consider plugging a parking meter and helping a deserving community charity? Coastal GasLink is pleased to support the City of Dawson Creek with sponsorship of the initiative and with matching meter donations made by the community (up to $10,000). Four meters will be installed at the Calvin Kruk Centre for the Arts, the Kenn Borek Aquatic Centre, Memorial Arena and the Alaska Highway House Art Gallery. Funds collected will be pooled and distributed evenly on a rotating basis to local charities, chosen based on applications received and criteria set by Council. Two non-profit groups will be chosen every six months.
This initiative is a great way for people to show their support in a small way – and to support a number of groups at the same time,” said Dawson Creek Mayor Dale Bumstead.
