Mr. Pfeiffer brings extensive experience in pipeline construction and operations with more than 20 years leading the execution of complex projects in Canada and abroad. Prior to his role as Vice-President at Coastal GasLink, he served as Vice-President of Mexico Gas Projects for TransCanada as well as Managing Director of the FSA Joint Venture between the 16-member First Nations Limited Partnership and their partnering contractor. As leader of the First Nations joint venture he worked to ensure significant economic benefit would be delivered for B.C. First Nations during pipeline construction.

Over the coming months, Mr. Pfeiffer will travel along the pipeline route to meet with First Nation partners, community members, local governments, and potential contractors, as Coastal GasLink continues preliminary construction activities. At peak construction, Coastal GasLink will employ more than 2000 people with many positions occupied by First Nation and B.C. residents. Once in operation, the pipeline will generate $20 million per year in property tax benefits to B.C. communities.
To date, Coastal GasLink has signed $620 million in contracts with First Nation businesses with an additional $400 million to be awarded to First Nations and local community businesses during construction. In addition to funding provided through project agreements, the total First Nation commitment well exceeds $1 billion.
