November construction update

Posted by Coastal GasLink

Construction makes significant headway to finish the year strong

As the end of the year approaches, Coastal GasLink is seeing considerable construction progress along the project route. In the first nine months of the year alone, nearly 1/3 of the overall construction program was completed. At the end of October, Coastal GasLink reached 77.6 per cent completion, and by the end of November reached an incredible milestone of 80 per cent completion.

Heightened safety awareness

While safety is always our number one value, winter brings additional safety challenges and risks in B.C.’s
north. We’re working closely with our prime contractors to make sure the team keeps safety top of mind as they work this winter.

Legacy of Giving raises $123,800 for United Way of Northern B.C.

When it comes to giving back to local communities, our workforce is keen to participate. Recently, Coastal GasLink wrapped up its annual Legacy of Giving campaign in support of the United Way of Northern B.C. In partnership with our dedicated and community-minded prime contractors, and with a match from TC Energy’s Empower program, we raised a total of more than $123,800 to support socio-economic organizations across Coastal GasLink’s project route.

Coastal GasLink reaches 80% overall completion

In November, Coastal GasLink achieved 80 per cent overall completion. This incredible accomplishment is bolstered by a number of milestones reached this year such as the safe completion of 9 out of 10 major watercourse crossings, 45 per cent pipe installed at Cable Crane Hill ahead of schedule and 70 per cent of pipe installed across the entire route. As Coastal GasLink enters into its final year of construction, we are on track to deliver cleaner, Canadian-made energy to the world at a time it is needed most.
