As we enter the summer months, Coastal GasLink remains committed to the safety of the environment and communities, as we continue to closely monitor the wildfire situation across the province. Our workforce is on high alert, and crews are in place project-wide that are trained and fully equipped to suppress fires that could occur in the area.
“For years, our teams have been working with local first responders to support training and response to local wildfires. Now, we are proud to provide support to those who have been directly impacted by the fires through the United Way of Northern B.C during this difficult wildfire season.” said Joel Forrest, Project Vice-President, External Relations, Coastal GasLink.
Our Prime contractors also play a key role in supporting communities through these challenging wildfire seasons. Together with our Prime Contractors, we work with the B.C. Wildfire Service, Emergency Management B.C. and local first responders to ensure our teams have the right measures, tools, and fire prevention plans in place to prevent and stop any fires.
That includes acting fast to lend a helping hand to local communities in need. Last week, crews from Nadleh-Macro in Section 5 provided 11 water trucks to help the Village of Fraser Lake respond to a residential home on fire, stopping it from growing into something larger.
